Indonesian Curriculum | a Short Explaination Video

1. Introduction of Indonesian Curriculum

The education system in Indonesia is run by two different ministries: the Ministry of Education, which deals with public education, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs, which deals with Islamic schools. Both curriculums are similar, following the national curriculum, with the exception that Islamic schools incorporate religion into their coursework. There are also schools called national plus schools that use an international curriculum and also teach English. Nine years of school is mandatory, six years of elementary school and three years of lower secondary. Senior secondary school, which is not mandatory, can be completed at a regular school, to possibly attend college, a vocational school, to learn a trade, or even an Islamic school, for those wishing to gain a religious education.
